Set Up and Take Down

Every team will be responsible for either setting up the field in the morning before the first game or taking it down after the last game on that field.  This is a very simple process but may be costly to your team should you not meet your assignment. If you are the home team for the first game of the day or the last game of the day, field set up/clean up is your responsibility.  Teams who fail to set up or clean up their field will be assessed a yardage penalty and will kick-off for both halves of the this game or the next game.  The home team is the team with their backs to Gainsborough Rd.

Field equipment includes:

  • End-zone pylons
  • Yard markers (placed on the home side of the field)
  • Chains & 1st Down Marker
  • Team Bench (one per side, placed behind the orange line at mid-field)
  • Trash cans (one per side, place behind the team bench)
  • Paint sprayer with paint (morning only)

Home Team Field Set Up

If you are the home team for the first game on your field, it is your responsibility to set up the field.  You will find all field equipment on your sideline when you arrive.  Every line on the field must be painted every week except for the orange lines.  Please allow at least 30 minutes to line the field.   It is much easier to see and paint the lines with the sun to your back.  Game time is game time.  If the field has not been painted, the home team will be assessed yardage and kick-off penalties for this game.  We have a full schedule of games every Saturday on every field and 9:00am start-time is critical.

Home Field Clean Up

If you are the home team on the last game of the day on your field, you are responsible for gathering all field equipment and bringing it to the center of the field.  End zone pylons and yard markers should be placed in the red trash can.  (see pictures)  Your team will be assessed yardage and kick-off penalties on the next game if the field has not been cleaned up.  CYFFA will come by and pick up all equipment.

Middle School Girls Division  (MSG)

You have yard markers on both sides of the field and 8 cones on each side of the field designating “no-run zones”.  This equipment must also be set up and cleaned up if you are the home team.

Chains and Down Marker

Each team is responsible for manning the down marker and chains for one half of the game.

  • Scrims and MSG: only one parent is needed for the down marker.  Chains are not used for these games.
  • Bantams, Juniors Seniors: 3 parents are needed.  One for the down marker and 2 for the chains.
